The Yunginz Story...

Originally from Auckland NZ, co-owner of Yunginz, Jenny Celebrin, moved to Sydney 13 years ago and prior to starting Yunginz spent many years in a corporate marketing environment. Jenny has two children – a 15 year old boy, and 7 year old girl. Co-owner Yolanda La Gorce moved from South Africa to Sydney 19 years ago with her husband, she has 2 girls (now aged 20 and 18). Yolanda spent most of her earlier years with corporate advertising agencies, and now, along with the responsibilities of Yunginz, still runs her own successful design studio. Jenny & Yolanda met through a work project some years ago and have remained friends ever since, deciding to start the Yunginz business together in April 2007.

Catering for boys and girls aged between approximately 1-6 years, Yunginz shoes are quality made, using leather uppers where applicable as opposed to PU. Obtaining crucial initial advice from a podiatrist enabled Yunginz to not only create fashionable footwear, but also cater for a child’s growing foot with such inclusions as arch support, cushioned inner soles, toe reinforcement and heel/ankle support for the more closed in styles.

Yunginz designs are the result of many hours of team work, dedication and re-drawing of designs until perfect. It has been extremely hard work and will continue to be but we enjoy every minute of it. We create our designs with the Australian lifestyle in mind, not dwelling too much on ‘what’s in’ and ‘what’s out’ – which results in creating that unique point of difference in the childrens footwear market.
